A Malaysian restaurant offering lunch and dinner. Aside from many students, Tiger Lily's attracts visitors from Boston's Symphony Hall, the New England Conservatory, and Berklee College of Music, and lost tourists. This place does not serve strictly Malaysian cuisine - it also serves a Chinese, Indonesian, and Thai. They also have an interesting bar menu- with many interesting and fruity drinks. If you are going there to drink (as most people do)- they're known for their black scorpion bowl. Try to get a table by the window - there is a great view of the Christian Science Center across the street.
Random fact: doorknobs are actually cutlery.

Located near Boston Symphony Orchestraand Northeastern University, this Vietnamese restaurant is a great value, in an easy location, without any fuss. They do delivery, take-out, and have seating both at tables and a small bar. They do get full on Symphony nights, as well as when there's a popular show at the Huntington Theatre, so there may sometimes be a wait, although generally you can snag a table most times of the day. They offer tasty lunch specials for $7 or $8, with meat or tofu, veggies, and rice, and an extra $2 gets you soup, salad, and an appetizer as well. Main dishes include some of the best pad thai around, pho noodle soups, noodle dishes like the spicy drunken noodle, make-your-own fresh rolls, and a variety of meat and seafood plates. For dessert, green tea ice cream, or mangoes and sticky rice, are the best bet. Also try the creamy Thai iced tea, or a glass of wine with dinner. The staff is easy-going, keeps water glasses full, and never rushes customers out of a table, even when they're busy.
The Phoenix says...
"Curl your hands around a hot bowl of tom yum noodle soup ($7.95). This classic Thai hot-and-sour chili-flaked soup is full of baby mushrooms, fresh green scallions, chunks of chicken, shrimp, and tender tomatoes with a hint of lime juice. Impossible to finish in one sitting? Yes. Impossible to fight the urge to try? You bet."

It's your standard Uno's - can't beat the quick lunch (four different lunch specials!) and you can order on-line and just pop in to pick it up! The food is decently priced and generally tasty, and a good place to bring a bigger group--just call for reservations. They also have a larger function room for big parties.
There's an outdoor patio that's one of the only spots in the area to peoplewatch and have a drink off of Newbury Street--and their drinks are surprisingly good!
If you're on a sports team or in a student group looking for a way to make money, you can contact Uno's about a fundraiser evening: if you can bring in enough people to eat at Uno's and bring in a pre-made flyer with your gorup's name, you get 20% of the proceeds from those people's bills.

Though not owned by or affiliated with Red Sox mascot Wally the Green Monster, this hole-in-the-wall jazz club remains fan-friendly and seemingly prehistoric. Since its inception in 1947, Wally's has catered to a consistent clientele of music lovers from all walks of life. Don't look for a trendy crowd here—with its plain brick exterior and cramped interior barely big enough for your blocking group, Wally brings in all types of jazz afficionados, none of whom will be interested in the Diesels you selected for your night out. Ranging from blues to Latin, R&B to funk, Wally's is the proving ground for talented young musicians from Berklee College Of Music and the Boston Conservatory, as well as local amateurs and established performers. Open auditions every day; call ahead to schedule a time.
The Cafe is known for having Jazz 365 Days per year (yes, that means holidays too!), They have Saturday Jam from 5pm-8pm, and Sunday Jam from 4pm-7pm. If you check out their website, you will find a schedule of music.

Set in the Back Bay Hilton, Club Nicole is distinctly upmarket. To get in the door, dress nicer, older, and richer than you really are. Lines tend to be long and selective, and the cover ranges from $12-16 depending on the theme of the night. If you want to rub shoulders with the rich, this is the place to do it.
